Sheltered In The Arms Of God
From Heritage Volume 2
I
feel the touch of hands so kind and
tender.
They're leading me in the paths that I must trod. I'll have no fear for Jesus walks beside me For I'm sheltered in the arms of God.
So let the storm clouds rage high,
The dark clouds rise, They don't worry me; For I'm sheltered in the arms of God. He walks with me, And naught of earth shall harm me, For I'm sheltered in the arms of God.
Soon I shall hear the call from
heaven's portals
Come home my child,
It's the last mile you must trod
I'll fall asleep And wake in God's sweet heaven For I'm sheltered in the arms of God. So let the storm clouds rage high, The dark clouds rise, They don't worry me; For I'm sheltered in the arms of God. He walks with me, And naught of earth shall harm me, For I'm sheltered in the arms of God.
By Dottie Rambo
Psalms 61:3 For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy.Just last night, we had another thunderstorm. The rain pounded on the roof making one wonder if it can withstand the challenge the weather is giving it. We've had many storms lately. We see the pictures on the news of homes and businesses flooded. We hear horror stories of people trying to survive hurricanes in Nicaragua. Storms can give us a lot of fear and worry. Have you ever been caught in a storm? I've been caught in a storm on a golf course. That is one place you definitely do not want to be during a thunderstorm. You wonder, how to get to shelter that will protect, but the clubhouse seems to be miles away and the lightning seems to strike closer and closer.
Dottie Rambo wrote this great lyric along with many, many others. Dottie herself has been caught in the storms of life. She suffered a ruptured disk which led to paralysis in her left leg. She underwent a series of surgeries to regain some mobility in her leg, but during this time, she learned her husband was having affairs with other women.. She suffered through a divorce when her husband left her to marry another. She struggled with finances and for a time was forced to rely on support from family and friends. On top of all this, her ministry secretary absconded with all of Dottie's personal and ministry finances and disappeared. But, God never let Dottie down and he will never let us down. God never promised us
there wouldn't be storms in our lives. Think of the lyric sung: "So let the storm
clouds rage high, the dark clouds rise. Where are you right now? Hopefully, life is just great and going very well. But, there are always times of life when we are in a storm. Despite the circumstances around us, we can know and trust that we are "sheltered in the arms of God." Read these verses that speak of God as our protector and shelter: 2 Samuel 22:2-4 Psalm 9:9 Psalm 18:1-3 Psalm 27:1-6 Psalm 46:1 Psalm 125:2
